Kitchen Design for Kitchen Remodel in Generational Shore House

Everyone loves the family shore home and this one was no different. Beloved for generations, and lived in year round by the family matriarch, this kitchen in Bayhead, New Jersey was in need of a significant refresh.

Woodhaven designed and installed the new kitchen as a streamlined galley kitchen to provide clean lines, an easy flow throughout the space, and maximize every available inch for the needed storage.

There were countless memories for the family held in the serverware they used for family functions. So when the project first commenced, the designer, Carole Ann Gorhan and the owner went through the tall storage cabinets located in the kitchen and wet bar/overflow pantry room to document the treasured family items to ensure each one would have its place in the kitchen remodel.

The perimeter of the kitchen used HomeCrest Cabinets with the Sedona door style in Alpine White, while the kitchen island uses Medallion Cabinets with the Potters Mill door style in Gale Blue.

Subtle details like the countertop color, the beadboard on the ends of the island, the cover that fully hides the hood, and the ‘whale tail’ looking hardware help to enhance the overall beachy feel.

The contractor, Brad Lebbing of East Coast Contractors provided the quartz countertop of MSI Vena Carbona which was selected at one of Woodhaven’s kitchen showrooms. The hardware that the customer selected are from Top Knobs’ Riverside Collection

Adjacent to the kitchen and dining room, the wet bar and pantry area was also remodeled to have a fresh, coordinated look to the kitchen. This space provided overflow pantry storage and a separate, but connected space to make apres beach cocktails but free up kitchen traffic. This area was designed to match the kitchen perimeter’s HomeCrest Cabinets with the Sedona door style in Alpine White.

The result: relaxed and organized beachy elegance for the whole family to enjoy. The customer was delighted with her kitchen remodel sharing:
