Transitional Design for a Prominently-Placed Full Bath
Millstone, New Jersey
For this Millstone, New Jersey bathroom remodel, the homeowner had a distinct idea of what she wanted. With the bathroom doorway directly adjacent to the stairway landing, she sought to create a transitional design worthy of this central vantage point. The design team at Woodhaven worked to interpret the true goals and inspirations of the homeowner and offer a host of suggestions that went far beyond what she initially dreamed possible.
The Ultimate Tile Shower
The whole space was designed around a gorgeous tile shower in bold blue hues. It was important that the focal point of this room be eye-catching without feeling overly showy. They achieved this by using 2” x 10” polished ceramic wall tiles from Pennsylvania-based company Conestoga Tile. Choosing the Berlio finish in their Savannah collection, these glossy tiles in beautiful gradients of blue create a restrained pop.
Shower highlights include:
- 2” x 10” polished ceramic wall tile in the Savannah Collection
- Herringbone tile detail in the shower niche for added visual interest
- 2” hexagon mosaic tile floor in Iceberg for timeless contrast
- Infinity drain for a sleek, custom look
- Multiple shower heads for a luxurious walk-in shower experience
The same tile, displayed in a herringbone pattern for the shower niche, adds visual interest without unnecessary distraction, while the bold blue hues bring personality and depth to the space.
An Understated Vanity
To let the shower shine, they chose a more understated bathroom vanity by Fabuwood, a local company known for in-house craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology.
Vanity features include:
- Shaker-style full-overlay doors
- Kona finish with rich espresso woodgrain tones
- Satin Nickel hardware from Hardware Resources’ Callie Collection
- Double sinks with a center drawer bank for added bathroom storage
Combined with the blue shower tile, the vanity creates a balanced and inviting feel throughout the space.
A Porcelain Tile Floor
The shower and floor are drawn together with Maline Tile’s Luster Frozen Blanco porcelain tile, a matte tile perfectly suited for wet conditions. Adding some extra enchantment to the space, little flecks in the frosty white 12” x 24” tiles make the foundation of the room simply shimmer. In fact, the homeowner said her children like to glide across the room as if they are ice skating!
Everything Comes Together for a Subtly Show-Stopping Bathroom
In its prominent position at the top of the staircase, this Millstone, New Jersey bathroom renovation is a true show-stopper. Between the dramatic blue tile shower and the grounding deep espresso vanity and white porcelain floor, it’s a perfectly harmonious space with just the right amount of drama.
“I walked into Woodhaven with one idea and left with something even better. Krystina and Kathy refined my vision into an elegant, timeless main bathroom design. Their creativity, expertise, and collaborative approach made the experience exceptional.”
