Remodeling the Heart of a Home: An Organized Kitchen with Revamped Coffee Bar, Work Station and Laundry Room

With their children now grown, a West Creek, New Jersey couple decided it was time for a kitchen renovation. They were price-conscious and design-savvy, seeking quality cabinetry to freshen up the room while adhering to the traditional look of the rest of their home. Additionally, they wanted to carry the kitchen cabinets throughout much of the space in order to carve out a coffee bar, work station, and new laundry room. The kitchen design team listened to the homeowners’ requests and delivered stellar results.

The overall aesthetic beautifully matches the European flair of the couple’s home. The space is designed using KraftMaid cabinetry, a mid-range line known for its quality and durability. Lyndale full overlay recessed doors finished in frost white provide a crisp, timeless foundation. Champagne hardware offers a subtle touch of opulence and glamour. 48” stacked cabinetry makes use of the tall ceilings for maximum storage. Other details ensure the space is both functional and practical, including bistro glass in the corner cabinet, a show-stopping hood with display shelving, a deep farm sink, floating shelves and large island.

One of the ruling factors in the overall kitchen design was designating space for all of the items the homeowner wanted to carry over from her current kitchen. The renovation included a host of unique storage solutions, including:

• Charging drawers for a discreet way to keep tech out of sight but within easy reach
• A deluxe roll-out pot and pan drawer to allow quick access without any digging
• A tall pantry complete with roll out drawers to keep pantry staples close at hand
• A two-tiered organizing tray drawer to maximize storage capacity for tableware and cutlery
• Multiple Lazy Susans to enhance functional storage
• A drawer cabinet with pivot to house a vast collection of Yeti mugs and tumblers
• Light rails to conceal under-cabinet lighting for a sophisticated look

Coffee Bar, Work Station, and Laundry Room Build Out

The Lyndale KraftMaid cabinetry and champagne hardware were also carried through several other areas in and around the main kitchen space. A separate nook dedicated to a coffee bar keeps functional space streamlined. The large kitchen also included a built-in desk workstation to keep the counters uncluttered. An adjacent laundry room features the same stunning cabinetry to provide discreet storage for detergents and other cleaning essentials.
